Moogsoft is the leader in AIOps
Moogsoft is the founder of the AIOps space; working for a leader is important to me. The company boasts 74 patented observability and AIOps inventions. The company was born out of a passion to help solve complex IT problems using machine learning and artificial intelligence and I believe its vision and product roadmap (more below) are in line with what customers will need to be successful in a cloud-native world.
AIOps is hitting its stride
MarketsandMarkets Research estimates that the global AIOps market will grow from $2.55 billion in 2018 to $11.02 billion by 2023, a jump representing a compound annual growth rate of 34%. Why? See the next reason.
The complexity of applications and infrastructure is increasing
In my experience, most enterprises are only getting started with the cloud and the complexity that will ensue. While you’ll read about enterprises using multiple clouds, the reality is that many are using SaaS products and/or are just starting to deploy custom applications to the cloud. As companies deepen their use of container-based microservices and application architectures that include on-premises data centers, monitoring those applications is going to get much harder.
Speaking of monitoring…
Too many monitoring tools and silos – enterprises need help
The number of monitoring tools being used continues to grow, despite the claims by leading vendors that they can be a single pane of glass. In a 2020 451 Research’s Voice of the Enterprise (VotE) data, 54% of organizations cited having five or more monitoring and incident response tools in use; others said they have more than 30, and some enterprises are likely unaware of the total number of tools being used across their organizations as a wider range of personas leverage monitoring capabilities.
This is the core issue Moogsoft is built to solve! As a product marketer, having a problem that continues to grow is a good thing!
Moogsoft ingests and normalizes metrics, traces, log events, changes and alerts from monitoring tools, such as AWS Cloudwatch and Prometheus, and from systems such as Linux servers and Kubernetes clusters, across the entire IT stack, regardless of how siloed it is. Moogsoft bridges the gap between monitoring/observability tools and systems of engagement like PagerDuty and ServiceNow. It provides continuous noise filtering and continuous correlation to automate the data to action workflow so DevOps, SRE, and IT Ops teams can quickly find and fix problems before they become a problem for customers.
Moogsoft is experiencing its own digital transformation
Disrupting yourself is a hard decision to make, but it’s usually the right decision. In 2020 Moogsoft leadership decided the right thing to do for the company and customers was to rebuild their industry-leading on-premises solution to a SaaS cloud native architecture. And this isn’t just a re-architecture of the same product. All the features customers love will be in the new product and new features for a new set of users are being added as well. One I find very interesting is the expansion of monitoring beyond events into metrics and changes that widen the scope of issues that can be detected and allow you to detect them earlier. Knowing that leadership is willing to do the hard, disruptive things in the short term to improve the product and business long-term was a big motivator for me.
Product roadmap – exciting times ahead
As a product marketer, nothing is more exciting than being able to introduce new features. The Moogsoft roadmap is very strong and is loaded with features customers will love. The people and culture
Last, but definitely not least, are the people I am working with every day. That is very important to me. At my previous gig, I worked with a lot of smart and passionate people, so the bar was set high!
Everyone I talked to in the org and outside had good things to say about the company. The people here are dedicated and enthusiastic about the future. Leadership has software and solving IT problems in their DNA. The culture here is to do the right for employees and customers. Being a product marketer, being able to run experiments to see what works and what doesn’t work is very important. The entrepreneurial nature of the organization structure encourages this. And the org structure is flat, which lends itself to getting things done quickly and efficiently.
