Does AIOps replace ITIL/ITSM systems?

No. AIOps is complementary to your ITIL- and ITSM-based systems, which remain the “system of record” for enterprise IT teams. In fact, AIOps helps improve the user experience of these systems by minimizing the level of noise, and ensuring that only relevant events trigger the creation of an incident ticket.

Doesn’t this create confusion by multiplying the systems that users will need to refer to?

Bidirectional integration via both products’ APIs ensures that the same information is available from either console, avoiding the need for duplicate data entry and the risk of incomplete information due to lack of synchronization.

What about other areas of of ITIL outside of Incident Management

While Incident Management is certainly the most obvious and common contact point between AIOps and ITIL/ITSM, there are others. In particular, Change Management can be a fraught process for IT organizations that need to balance stability and predictability with speed and agility. Moogsoft AIOps can help resolve this dilemma by identifying unexpected impacts of a change event automatically in real time, and flagging them to operators so they can roll back the problematic change, or take other corrective actions.
