Customers and partners attending the Moogsoft User Conference got a close-up look at Express, a new product that democratizes AIOps and signals new directions for Moogsoft.
Express is aimed at DevOps and SRE teams that struggle with the tremendous complexity and overwhelming amount of data in their CI/CD toolchains and production environments.
While dealing with these challenges, these teams must create and release software quickly, and constantly, but they often struggle with reliability and outages.
“There haven’t been tools to support these customers’ needs effectively,” said Gabriel Coelho-Kostolny, Senior Director of Product Management at Moogsoft.
Express gives these teams the best of the AIOps functionality from the Moogsoft AIOps platform, such as noise reduction, correlation and actionable insights, along with distributed metrics monitoring for observability.
The ability to gather consumed metrics and to detect metrics anomalies is a first for Moogsoft. Moogsoft Enterprise will eventually gain this functionality via its seamless integration with Express, which is currently in beta.
“Metrics show us the deep internal behavior of these complex digital services,” said Adam Frank, Senior Product Manager at Moogsoft.
Richard Whitehead, Moogsoft’s Evangelist-in-Chief, outlined multiple elements that set apart Express’ metrics analysis, including:
- A REST API for metrics ingestion
- Distributable collectors with lightweight processing and with native support for Docker and Kubernetes
- Anomaly detection at the source
- Selective forwarding of metrics
- Support for all metrics sources
- Collection of metrics that’s fully decoupled from processing
The metrics capability also makes Express suitable for enterprises that need a metrics solution. “With the addition of Express to our portfolio, we’re looking at a holistic solution with the Moogsoft platform,” Coelho-Kostolny said.
Express is also significant because it was built from the ground up with a cloud-native SaaS deployment model, a direction the Moogsoft AIOps platform will be moving towards.
“It’s the start of a cloud pivot you’ll see Moogsoft continue to take over the course of the next year,” Moogsoft CEO Phil Tee said during his keynote.
Since Express is in beta, Moogsoft wants customers to sign up for the beta program and help test and influence the development of the product. Moogsoft’s website has plenty of information about Express and a form for requesting to join the beta program.
